Highways England has announced that it is investing £630,000 into the A36 Southampton Road in Salisbury, between Bourne Way Roundabout and College Roundabout, completing a 'missing link' in the National Cycle Network. The investment will be used to create a 800-metre cycle way, reducing the need for detours, dismounting or cycling in the carriageway. Announcing the investment, Highways England Route Manager, Neil Winter, said: ‘We’re committed to significantly improving cycle efficiency and safety across our road network, and the new and improved cycle way will make it much easier and safer for cyclists and pedestrians.’
