The Environmental Agency (EA) has issued a regulatory position statement (RPS) amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The RPS outlines that large combustion plant operators can 'delay meeting new emission limit values scheduled to take effect from 1 July 2020 because of coronavirus (COVID-19).' However, this only to applies to large combustion plants currently within the Transitional National Plan and 'where upgrades to meet the new Annex V ELVs are delayed by coronavirus'. Combustion plants must get written agreement from the EA before using this RPS.
