The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has announced that 35 hazardous chemicals have been added to Annex I of Regulation (EU) 649/2012 (the Prior Informed Consent (PIC) Regulation). As such, from 1 November 2023, EU exporters must notify their intentions to export the 35 hazardous chemicals, however, companies can begin notifying now. Most of the chemicals will additionally require an explicit consent from the importing country before exporting and four chemicals which previously only required an export notification will now also require an explicit consent.
