DWP publishes draft guidance on deferred dashboard connection

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published draft guidance for trustees or managers of relevant occupational pension schemes and their advisers regarding the issues trustees or managers should consider if they are applying for a deferral of their staging deadline (the deadline for the scheme to be connected to a dashboard of digital architecture, the Money and Pensions Service, which will enable the functioning of pensions dashboards) set out in schedule 2 of the draft Pensions Dashboards Regulations 2022 (the Regulations). Pensions dashboards are an electronic communications service which individuals can use to obtain details about their pensions. The Regulations are subject to government approval and therefore, the guidance is preliminary and will be updated if and when the Regulations come into force. Notes have been provided where it can be expected that the guidance will be updated.
