The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has published the summary of responses and the government response to the consultation on the changes to the central rating list for the 2023 business rates revaluation. The DLUHC has provided that there were 29 responses to the consultation from ratepayers, local authorities, the Local Government Association and London Councils, chartered surveyors and practitioners in business rates, the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation and the Rating Surveyors Association. The government’s response has covered the current principles of the central rating list, hereditaments suitable for moving to the central rating list for the 2023 revaluation, the mobile telecom sector and interaction with the Business Rates Retention Scheme.
