The Department for International Trade (DIT) has published a sixth wave of data on public attitudes towards trade and government trade policy as a part of its 'Public attitudes to trade tracker' collection. The survey, which collected data between 23 July 2022 and 25 September 2022 considered how much people know about international trade, how much support there is for trade agreements, what people think the impacts of future trade agreements will be and what people would like to prioritise in future trade deals. The data collected was from a sample of 3,058 individuals aged 16 and above in the UK through online interviews. The survey showed that, although public optimism about the health of the economy has dropped considerably, the support for signing free trade agreements has remained stable and has increased in relation to specific named countries such as India.
