On 23 November 2022, the Department for International Trade (DIT) published a communiqué of the Interministerial Group for Trade meeting on 5 July 2022 that occurred via video conference. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of State for Trade Policy, Penny Mordaunt MP, and ministers from the Scottish Government, Welsh Government, Northern Ireland Government and UK government were also in attendance. In the meeting, the ministers confirmed and adopted the group’s terms of reference, and an update was provided on the UK government’s plans to sign and develop a memorandum of understanding with US states, which the members expressed that early and effective engagement would be beneficial for all and agreed to monitor progress.
