The Department of Energy, Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) has allocated the £6bn funding announced in the Autumn Statement 2022 to new and existing schemes which aim to keep energy costs down for families and businesses. Covering 2025–2028, the funding will support schemes such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme with £1.5bn to support families to move away from gas to energy efficient, low-carbon heat pumps, the Social Housing Decarbonisation with £1.25bn to support up to 140,000 social homes to be insulated or retrofitted and the Green Heat Network Fund with £485m to help up to 60,000 homes and buildings access affordable, low carbon heating through new heat networks. The £6bn funding will also improve around 100 existing heating networks with £45m through the Heat Network Efficiency Scheme and will help businesses transition to a low-carbon future with £225m through the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund.
