The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Department for Transport (DfT) have announced a new round of Air Quality Grants amounting to £9m, which help councils develop strategies to benefit schools, businesses and communities and reduce the impact of polluted air on people’s health. The criteria for applications prioritise projects reducing air pollutant exceedances, projects improving public awareness and projects dealing with particulate matter. Applications close on 8 October 2021.
