The Environment Agency (EA) has issued an update on the accumulation of radioactive waste that cannot be transferred as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The guidance addresses the occasions whereby individuals can accumulate waste over the limits in their permit in the COVID-19 regulatory position statement (RPS) C13. RPS C13 is only applicable should the accumulated waste not be transferable within the UK and overseas as a result of the disruption caused by the outbreak of the virus. The EA must be notified prior to the use of this RPS.
