The European Commission has launched two consultations on the revision of the Renewable Energy Directive and the Energy Efficiency Directive. The aim of these twelve-week consultations is to seek a broad range of views on to what extent and how these two Directives should be amended. The consultations follow on from four consultations that were opened on 13 November 2020 on upcoming revisions to other EU laws created to reduce the EU’s emissions of greenhouse gases. The consultations are open to all members of the public, including public authorities, companies, industry associations, consumer organisations, worker associations, NGOs, environmental organisations, consultancies, academia, think tanks, other relevant stakeholders and citizens. The consultations will run until mid-February 2020.
