Innovate UK has updated its guidance on business innovation funding. The funding is aimed at providing organisations with the opportunity to test new products and ideas. Since IP completion day, the EU State Aid regime has ceased to be applicable in the UK. Therefore, the section on State aid has been replaced by a new section entitled ‘subsidy control’. It explains what a subsidy is, as defined by the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement, and why the financial support from Innovate UK accords with the UK’s international obligations and commitments to subsidy control.
