The House of Commons Library has published an updated briefing on the Agriculture Bill 2019-21 as it continues its passage through Parliament. The House of Lords have returned the Bill to the House of Commons with amendments, following its third reading in the Lords on 1 October 2020. The amendments are considered on the floor of the Commons on 12 October 2020. This period is known as 'ping pong'. During ping pong, the Bill travels back and forth between the two Houses, until both Houses agree on the text of the Bill.
