The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has opened bidding for a share of a £26m government fund dedicated to increasing the use of materials including grasses, hemp and seaweed to support the development of biomass production solutions and help the UK reach net zero. The funding, which forms a part of phase two of the Biomass Feedstocks Innovation Programme, will allow projects which were previously involved in phase one to apply for further funding for their projects. Each project will be able to bid for up to £4m (or £5m for bids from the multi-site demonstrator projects).
