34.     Secretary of State's powers to make payments to Ofcom to secure use of the radio spectrum for the Crown.

The Secretary of State1 may, out of money provided by Parliament, make payments to Ofcom2 of such amounts as he considers appropriate in respect of:

  1.  

    (1)     the establishment and use, by or on behalf of the Crown, of a wireless telegraphy station3;

  2.  

    (2)     the installation and use, by or on behalf of the Crown, of wireless telegraphy apparatus4;

  3.  

    (3)     any grant of recognised spectrum access5 made to the
