253 Phonographic Performance Limited and Video Performance Limited

The membership of Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) includes over 65,000 performers and more than 10,000 owners of copyright in sound recordings. PPL has a companion society, Video Performance Limited (VPL), whose activities are concerned with videos. VPL operates under the same management as PPL. The members of PPL assign to it certain rights in respect of the copyright of sound recordings owned by such members, including the public performance and broadcast rights in respect of such sound recordings.
