28 Express terms as to workmanship and materials

A construction contract commonly makes express provision for the standards of workmanship, and the type and quality of materials to be used in carrying out the works1. It may further provide by way of performance specifications that certain items of work, or the whole of the completed works, are to be fit for their stated purposes. The contract may establish objective measures for the standards and qualities so specified, or it may require work to be done to the satisfaction of the contract administrator2.
