The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has announced a new round of sanctions targeting individuals and entities closely associated with Putin's regime. The measures, implemented nearly a year after Alexei Navalny's death, include asset freezes, trust services sanctions, travel bans and transport bans on four individuals and two entities. Notable targets include Pavel Fradkov, a Russian Defence Minister, Vladimir Selin, head of the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control, and Artem Chaika, owner of a company supporting Russian state-owned businesses. Additionally, two subsidiaries of Rosatom have been sanctioned for their involvement in Russia's defence sector and military activities in Ukraine. The Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, emphasised the UK's commitment to maintaining pressure on Putin and supporting Ukraine's sovereignty, while also addressing broader international issues at the Munich Security Conference.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has announced sanctions against five senior Georgian officials in response to violent attacks on journalists and peaceful protestors. This action, coordinated with the United States, imposes UK travel bans and asset freezes on the individuals responsible for the crackdown following public opposition to the Georgian Dream party's decision to pause the country's European integration. The sanctions follow the UK's recent suspension of programme support to the Georgian government and restriction of defence cooperation. The FCDO's decision aligns with condemnations from UN experts and the OSCE regarding the pattern of repression and human rights violations in Georgia, particularly in light of the use of force against protestors after the October parliamentary elections.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has imposed immediate sanctions on six individuals on 5 February 2026. The measures were announced by the Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, following her visit to the Sudan–Chad border. The sanctions target senior commanders of the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Armed Forces, as well as individuals accused of financing the conflict, procuring weapons and recruiting foreign mercenaries, in response to their alleged roles in fuelling the war in Sudan and enabling serious abuses against civilians. The FCDO stated that the measures aim to increase pressure on those responsible for massacres, sexual violence, forced displacement and other atrocities, particularly in Darfur and Gezira states, and to disrupt the financial and logistical networks sustaining the conflict. The sanctions form part of a wider UK strategy combining enforcement, humanitarian assistance and diplomacy. Under this approach, the UK has committed £146m in aid during the current financial year, is calling for an immediate ceasefire and unhindered humanitarian access, and will prioritise Sudan during its February 2026 presidency of the UN Security Council while co-hosting an international conference in April 2026 to strengthen coordinated international efforts to end the conflict and promote accountability.
