This week's edition of Energy weekly highlights includes: publications from Ofgem on (1) updated guidance setting out how it intends to select and license code managers pursuant to Energy Act 2023 powers and (2) guidance on regular data reporting requirements for authorised heat network suppliers and operators under the new authorisation framework. In addition this week, Ofgem has issued a call for input seeking stakeholder interest in joining an energy industry working group to support development of the Reformed National Pricing (RNP) programme, following government’s Review of Electricity Market Arrangements (REMA) decision last year. This week's edition of Energy weekly highlights includes: Ofgem’s finalised templates for energy code modification processes, published following a previous consultation on implementation of energy code reforms under the Energy Act 2023 (EnA 2023). Ofgem has also published new templates and reporting guidance for gas transmission network operators under RIIO-3 for the 2026 Annual Iteration Process (AIP). In addition this week, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) is consulting on exemptions to the requirement for smart secure electricity systems (SSES) to have load control licences and, separately, on new permitted development rights for electricity network ground investigations. Further, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and Environment Agency (EA) have both published new guidance of interest to nuclear projects on nuclear safeguarding compliance and radioactive waste management, respectively.
