MLex: The EU consumers’ ‘right to repair’ directive has passed the final vote in the European Parliament and is now ready to get its last greenlight by the national governments in the Council of the EU. Once formally approved, EU Member States will have two years to transpose the rules into national legislation. Under the law, manufacturers must guarantee repair services in a cost-effective and timely manner, and goods repaired during the warranty period will see the legal guarantee extended for one year.
