A round-up of EU competition law developments, including (amongst other things) (1) the Court of Justice clarifies national rules suspending recovery of unlawful State aid are incompatible with the requirement of immediate and effective recovery, (2) the Court of Justice issues judgment in joined national references from Belgium on whether insurance-related reduction in agricultural disaster aid applies where qualifying insurance was unavailable, (3) AG issues opinion recommending that the Court of Justice should uphold the appeal, set aside the General Court’s judgment and annul the Commission’s decision approving Swedish bank risk tax, and (4) the Commission sends SO in synthetic turf cartel investigations.
