The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has updated its list of prescribed persons and bodies under the Public Interest Disclosure (Prescribed Persons) (Amendment) Order 2026, SI 2026/478, which took effect on 2 June 2026. New prescribed persons include the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) have launched a public consultation on measures to regulate the ticket resale market. The consultation proposes a cap on resale ticket prices, ranging from the original price to a 30% uplift, and limits on the number of tickets resellers can list. Additional measures include new legal obligations for ticket resale platforms, a review of existing legislation with potential stronger fines, and a possible licensing regime for resale platforms. Alongside this, the government has initiated a call for evidence on pricing practices in the live events sector, including dynamic pricing. This consultation closes at11:59pm on 4 April 2025.

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and the Department for International Trade (DIT) have added Trade Remedies Notice 2025/17: anti-dumping duty on certain pneumatic tyres, new or retreaded, of rubber, of a kind used for Buses or Lorries, with a load index exceeding 121, originating from China to the trade remedies notices published by the Secretary of State for International Trade relating to the anti-dumping duty on bus and lorry tyres from China. The DBT and the DIT have also added Trade Remedies Notice 2025/18: countervailing duty on certain pneumatic tyres, new or retreaded, of rubber, of a kind used for Buses or Lorries, with a load index exceeding 121, originating from China to the trade remedies notices published by the Secretary of State for International Trade relating to the countervailing duty on bus and lorry tyres from China.

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and Department for Internal Trade (DIT) has published a public notice confirming the Secretary of State’s decision to accept the Trade Remedies Authority’s (TRA) recommendation to maintain anti-dumping duties on certain aluminium foil in rolls (AFR) originating from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) at existing rates and extend the measure until 6 June 2029. The decision follows a transition review which found that removing the duties would likely lead to recurrence of dumping and injury to UK industry.

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) have written to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) asking it to set out its plans and proposed timelines to implement the new Digital Markets competition regime as envisaged under Part 1 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill, which is currently laid before Parliament. The CMA has responded confirming that it will publish a document in line with the request in due course. It will outline a high-level, provisional overview of how the CMA intends to implement the new Digital Markets competition regime.

The directory includes information about how safety tech can be helpful and information on provider associations, among other things.

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU) has amended Export Control Order 2008, SI 2008/3231 and Council Regulation (EC) No 428/2009. The Export Control (Amendment) Regulations 2024, SI 2024 No. 346 will come into force on 1 April 2024. The Regulations amends Export Control Order 2008, SI 2008/3231, schedule 2 and 3 and Council Regulation (EC) No 428/2009, annex I.

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU) have published an updated Open General Licence (OGL) for the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) and a new Open General Export Licence (OGEL) covering Agreement on Defence Export Controls 'De-Minimis' Exports.

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) have published two new guidance documents under the UK’s Belarus sanctions regime, addressing licensing considerations and exceptions.  The DBT guidance provides a look-up guide listing considerations for granting trade sanctions licences across 12 categories, including military interception and monitoring equipment and machinery- related goods and technology. It outlines the conditions under which licences may be granted, including for humanitarian purposes, safety and maintenance needs, and medical or pharmaceutical uses. The FCDO guidance on automatic exceptions sets out defined circumstances in which activities subject to sanctions may be carried out without a licence, including those relating to personal effects and personal use, as well as activities connected to diplomatic missions, emergency situations and consumer communication devices for civilian use. Both documents form part of the statutory guidance issued under the Republic of Belarus sanctions regime.

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) have issued statutory guidance consolidating all licensing considerations for trade activities restricted under the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, SI 2019/855. The guidance includes a look-up tool that sets out the relevant licensing considerations and provides links to applicable general licences and the corresponding application pages. Businesses are advised to explain in their application why their proposed activity meets any of the listed considerations and are reminded that they should not assume a licence will be granted or engage in any prohibited activity until approval has been formally issued.

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) have launched an open consultation seeking views on a new product safety framework. The consultation aims to upgrade the existing framework based on the General Product Safety Regulations 2005, SI 2005/1803, reflecting modern products, evolving supply chains and the growth of online sales, amid concerns about dangerous products causing harm to UK consumers. The consultation closes on 23 June 2026.
