Katie Weeks, aged 36, was found guilty of sexually abusing a child and sharing images of the abuse with her lover, Gareth Southcombe, aged 42. The photographs, which were stored on Southcombe’s mobile phone and desktop, consisted of 14 category A indecent images of children, 14 category B, 15 category C and 35 extreme images. In November 2019, Bournemouth Crown Court unanimously convicted Weeks of three counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, two counts of taking indecent photographs of a child and two counts of distributing those indecent photographs. In January 2019, Southcombe was jailed for 28 months, having admitted possessing two photographs of the victim, possession of 14 category A indecent images, 14 category B, 15 category C and 35 images portraying acts of intercourse with animals. Both were put on the sex offenders register indefinitely and also given sexual harm prevention orders indefinitely.
