Climate Change Minister, Julie James, has launched a consultation on Wales’s plan to meet all their electricity needs by 2035 with renewable sources. James also set a target for 1.5 GigaWatt of Wales’s renewable energy to be locally owned within the next 12 years. The country is already generating 55% of their electricity from renewable sources. Wales has now been awarded £1m of funding which will be match funded by Associated British Ports to prepare for potential offshore wind projects.
