The Oil & Gas Authority (OGA) has launched a consultation into its proposed Governance Guidance, following the Supporting Obligation in the OGA Strategy, outlining when the OGA considers the adequacy of licensee governance arrangements. The guidance proposals address the adoption and application by a Relevant Board (RB) of a recognised corporate governance code, the adoption and application by an RB of the OGA Strategy principles, commitments by RBs to take appropriate steps assisting the government in its net zero targets, and how the OGA can monitor compliance with the guidance, including making it mandatory for an RB to account for how it has met the guidance. The consultation will close on Friday 12 November 2021.
