Ofgem has announced the winners of the 2020 Network Innovation Competition. The five projects selected have been awarded up to £58m ‘to help support the transition to a net zero emissions economy at the lowest cost to consumers’. Funding is being offered to two gas projects and to three electricity projects focusing on ‘trialling hydrogen to heat homes as well as boosting flexibility and capacity of the grid’.
