Ofgem has modified the content of the IT Investment Plan Guidance for the Electricity System Operator (ESO) Business Plan Guidance following consultation. The amendments include changes to the level of detail the ESO must provide for material shared IT investments and Run the Business IT costs for the Costs Pools layer of the Technology Business Management. Ofgem confirms that the updated guidance is effective from 15 December 2021, and as such, information submitted regarding IT investment as part of the ESO Business Plan for the period 1 April 2023–31 March 2025 must comply with the guidance.
