NHS England has issued new transactions guidance. The guidance replaces the 2017 transactions guidance, following consultation in 2021. The updated guidance ‘Assuring and supporting complex change: Statutory transactions, including mergers and acquisitions’, provides the framework for how NHS England will manage intra-NHS mergers, acquisitions, dissolutions, separations and transfers. Trusts that have started but not yet completed a transaction process under the previous guidance will be assessed on a case-by-case basis to determine the applicability of the revised guidance.
