Shared Intelligence has published a report of the findings of its ‘independent evaluation of sector-led improvement (SLI) in local government.’ The report reveals that 80% of councils believe the Local Government Association (LGA)’s SLI is the correct method of improvement and the LGA says the report demonstrates that councils are keen for longer-term SLI funding arrangements. The report also identifies various areas which require further research, such as the trends in levels of satisfaction with SLI and views of usefulness, peer challenge and support, whether a longer-term agreement between the LGA and government would be beneficial and the scope for making better use of the monitoring and evaluation material.
