The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced that the implementation of the new Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947 of 24 May 2019 on the rules and procedures for the operation of unmanned aircraft is postponed until 1 November 2020 at the earliest due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The CAA has also published an updated version of CAP 1789 which provides guidance on the general intent behind the EU Implementing Regulations and includes sections on the most common questions and misunderstandings that the CAA has received in relation to them.
