The Department for Education (DfE) has reported that the Huntcliff Academy Trust has been issued with a termination warning notice in relation to the Huntcliff School. The Huntcliff School received an 'inadequate' rating following an Ofsted report in June 2022. In particular, the Ofsted report found that there was a deep-rooted culture of bad attitudes to learning in some pupils, bullying was not tackled consistently and there was considerable variation in the way content was delivered, impacting the quality of teaching across the curriculum. Senior leaders at the school were also found to not have the capacity to implement the improvements suggested in the school's improvement plans. The trust has until 22 September 2022 to provide any representations to counter any further action.
