The European Commission has announced that it will register a new European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) called ‘Call to Action – Environmental protection in all policies'. The ECI organisers call for the Commission to recommend a legal act with the aim of ensuring that Member States take into account environmental considerations when adopting national measures. The Commission considers the ECI as 'legally admissible' but it has not yet analysed the substance of the proposal at this stage.
