The European Environment Agency (EEA) has published a new indicator, which aims to identify pesticides in Europe’s rivers, lakes and groundwaters. The indicator shows that 25% of reported monitoring sites in European surface waters had levels of pesticides exceeding thresholds in 2019. Groundwater sites exceeding the threshold varied from 3% to 7% from 2013 to 2019.
