What does Scottish Statutory Instrument mean?

The form in which delegated legislation, that is orders, rules and regulations made under an Act of Parliament, are made by the Scottish Parliament.

The power to make a Scottish Statutory Instrument (SSI) may come from a United Kingdom Act of Parliament or an Act of the Scottish Parliament. An SSI follows the same style as UK Statutory Instruments and is cited by year and the sequential number allocated in accordance with SSI 2011/195 (Scottish Statutory Instruments Regulations) Regs, 3 and 4.
