GET ACCESS NOWA Form A1 is a court form in family proceedings setting out the applicant's notice of (or intention to proceed with) an application for a financial remedy (other than an application for a financial order).
A 'financial remedy' includes orders made under the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973 or the Civil Partnership Act 2004 for a 'financial order' but also includes a wider range of financial provision including under Schedule 1 to the Children Act 1989 and under the Domestic Proceedings and Magistrates’ Courts Act 1978. Form A1 is used in relation to proceedings that do not specifically relate to a 'financial order'. Before issuing an application for a financial remedy the applicant must attend a mediation information and assessment meeting unless one of the exemptions set out in the Family Procedure Rules 2010, SI 2010/2955, Pt 3 and PD 3A apply.
