Eggshell tendency definition

What does Eggshell tendency mean?

A pre-existing vulnerability or medical condition in a person which exacerbates injuries suffered.

It is a long established doctrine that a tortfeasor must take the injured party as he finds him. Damages will therefore be recoverable even where injuries may not have been foreseeable, or less severe, in a person without the vulnerability.
