Model green lease clauses Lease provisions and clauses Better Buildings Partnership The Better Buildings Partnership (BBP) has developed model form green lease clauses covering definitions, co-operation obligations, building management groups, social impact, sustainable use, data sharing and metering, smart buildings, extending the landlord’s rights to do works, restricting the landlords right to do certain works which would negatively impact environmental performance, changes to the tenant’s freedom to make alterations, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), reinstatement of tenant’s alterations, rent review, circular economy principles for landlord and tenant works, standards, renewable energy and dispute resolution. Ireland—Model green lease clauses Chancery Lane Project (TCLP) The Chancery Lane Project (TCLP) (a collaborative, non-profit network of legal professionals) is developing model climate clauses for incorporation into legal documents to help organisations achieve net zero goals, across a range of sectors and includes green lease provisions in the real estate space. TCLP worked with Irish practitioners to develop a suite of green lease clauses for Irish commercial leases.
