BCAP Code for broadcast media definition

What does BCAP Code for broadcast media mean?

The Broadcast Committee of advertising practice (BCAP) is responsible for writing and maintaining the UK Code of Broadcast Advertising, but the Office of Communications (ofcom) retains overall sign-off on major changes to the Code. The bcap code sets out the rules that govern broadcast advertisements on any television channel or radio station licensed by Ofcom. The ASA is responsible for administering the Code, but is able to refer broadcasters to Ofcom for further action, if needed.
