125. Director General and staff.

There must be a Director General of the BBC1, who is the chief executive officer of the BBC2. He is an executive member of the BBC Board3. The Director General is also the editor-in-chief of the BBC and, as such, he has final responsibility and is accountable to the Board for individual decisions on the BBC's editorial matters and creative output4.

The BBC must appoint staff for the efficient performance of its functions and transaction of its business5.
