Licences for radio multiplex services1, digital sound programme services2, and digital additional sound services3 (collectively, 'digital terrestrial sound broadcasting licences') are awarded by Ofcom4 under Part II of the Broadcasting Act 19965.
Any licence granted by Ofcom under Part II of the Broadcasting Act 1996 must be in writing and continue in force for such period as is provided, in relation to a licence of the kind in question, by the relevant provision of Part II of the Broadcasting Act 19966.
