Any licence1 granted by Ofcom2 under Part I of the Broadcasting Act 19903 (which includes an additional services licence4) must be made in writing, and continue in force for such period as is provided, in relation to a licence of the kind in question, by the relevant statutory provisions5. Such a licence may be granted either for the provision of such a service as is specified in the licence or for the provision of a service of such a description as is so specified6.
