A serviceperson or a civilian may appeal to the Court Martial Appeal Court1 against conviction and sentence2 by the Court Martial3 (save where the sentence is fixed by law)4. The right is exercisable only with the leave of the Court Martial Appeal Court5. Additionally, any person found by the Court Martial to be unfit to stand trial and to have done the act or made the omission charged against him may, with the leave of the court, appeal to the Appeal Court against either or both of those findings6, and in certain circumstances special references may be made to
