3 The right financial backing

Even if the client has a potentially successful product, the business cannot achieve anything without the right financial backing. The client should take expert advice from a reliable accountant or other financial adviser as to the right mix of different types of finance (short-term finance for working capital or longer-term finance for more substantial capital requirements such as heavy machinery and premises)1. The most appropriate combination will of course vary depending upon the type of business. For instance, a client who intends to set up a manufacturing business is likely to require more long-term capital
