5 The right skills

The aspiring entrepreneur must have a basic working knowledge of the skills needed to run the business. These generally fall into four categories:

  1. 5.1

        finance;

  2. 5.2

        marketing;

  3. 5.3

        production; and

  4. 5.4

        personnel.

Most clients who are thinking of setting up a new business are likely to have some expertise in at least one of these areas, often in the area of production or perhaps marketing.
