This week's edition of EU Law weekly highlights includes the Council of the EU's final approval of the Cybersecurity Solidarity Act, the EU AI Act, the new hydrogen and gas Regulation and Directive, the EU electricity market reforms and the Regulation on CO2 emission standards for heavy duty vehicles. In addition, the Council of Europe has adopted the Framework Convention on AI, the European Commission opens formal proceedings against Meta and sends requests for generative AI information from Microsoft under the EU Digital Services Act (EU DSA) and the European Patent Office (EPO) and the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) have published the 2024—2025 work plan to enhance the European IP system. This week, the Regulation establishing sustainability rating scheme for data centres and the Regulation on the Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (EU REACH) have also been published in Official Journal.
