The Home Office and Ministry of Justice have announced £8.3m of funding for specialist support services for victims of crimes including domestic abuse, rape and other sexual offences. The boost to funding has been granted to frontline and specialist support projects to support the delivery of counselling, training and community outreach. 55 organisations will benefit from the funding, including tailored support programmes to victims from ethnic minority backgrounds, disabled, LGBT and elderly victims. This comes as part of the government’s wider Tackling Domestic Abuse Plan, which has committed a total of over £230m from 2022—2025.
