The National Crime Agency (NCA) has reported that the head of the UK branch of the Kinahan crime group has been jailed for importing millions of pounds of drugs. Thomas Kavanaugh has been sentenced to 21 years in prison and his associates, Gary Vickery and Daniel Canning, have been sentenced to 20 years and 19 and a half years respectively. The trio were convicted of drug shipments of around £30m, and movements of cash and firearms. Kinahan is an Irish organised crime group which supplies drugs, firearms and money laundering services.
