The Metropolitan Police has fined the organiser of a wedding in north London after the police were called to a large gathering at a school in Edgerton Road, Stamford Hill during the coronavirus (COVID–19) pandemic. The officers responded to a report at 21:14 pm on Thursday 21 January 2021 and found around 400 people inside the venue. The building windows were covered from the inside to prevent anyone from noticing the gathering from the outside. The organiser of the event has been reported for consideration of a £10,000 fine, including five other parties who were issued with £200 fixed penalty notices.
