The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has announced the launch of new 'sobriety tags' aimed at tackling alcohol-fuelled crime. The tags work by monitoring offenders' sweat every 30 minutes and alerting the probation service if alcohol is consumed. In addition, courts have been given new powers to issue drinking bans for up to 120 days if the alcohol ban is not complied with.
