Published by a LexisNexis Family expert

What does Secured periodical payments mean?

An order for periodical payments that includes provision for a form of capital deposit or other asset to be provided by way of security under the order.

Secured periodical payment orders may also be known as secured provision orders. Such orders are relatively rare and tend to be made where there is a real risk that a periodical payments order would not be complied with. The form of security for the order may be agreed between the parties or be directed by the court.
